Bahraich: 563 mobile phone displays and 1700 back covers tried to be smuggled illegally across Nepal border

On a credible intelligence input received by Coy commander of Munshipurwa company on 10 of October, 1.40 hrs a naka party was sent out from the company at 3.00 hrs under the leadership of Sh Shivam Kumar, Assistant Commandant with the direction of Sh Dilip Kumar DC(ops) and with the constant supervision of Sh Ganga Singh Udawat, Commandant 42nd BN.

 A check post was subsequently established by the party commander. During the naka at about 3.50 hrs near border pillar no 649 about 600 meters inside the Indian side, two Nepali citizens approached the naka point on their bikes carrying 5 large cardboard boxes. They were intercepted and stopped by the naka party and questioned.

The contents of the boxes were searched. During the search, it was found that the boxes contained a total of 563 mobile phone displays and 1700 back covers which they were trying to illegally smuggle into the Nepali side. On spot interrogation, it was found that their names were Madan Gopal Baniya s/o Devi Prasad Baniya and Ram Dheeraj Yadav s/o Kishan Lal Yadav. They admitted that they were illegally carrying the goods to the Nepali side for some quick money. The consignment along with 2 bikes and the two apprehended persons were later handed over to the Customs office in Nanpara.
