Yesterday on 23th November , 2022 four matches were played .

Croatia played Morocco in Group F

Germany played Japan in Group E 

Spain played Coasta Rica in Group E

Belgium played Canada in Group F

In the first match of the day Morocco held 2018 Word Cup runners up Croatia to a 0 -0 draw and took a point each.
Croatia had more of the ball but failed to breakdown the Morocco defence .

In next match 4 times world cup champions Germany were outplayed by Japan by 2-1 margin which can be termed as second biggest upset of World Cup 2022.

Germany had taken an early lead in the first half through penalty taken by Gundagon  however two late goals by Japan scored by Ritsu Doan and Taku Ma Asano sealed Japan's stunning win .

In next match Spain routed Costa Rica 7 -0 scoring 4 times in second half to pile more misery to Costa Rica , who already  seemed down and out after 3-0 at half time .

In the last match of the day although Canada played well against the much higher ranked team Belgium but some wastefulness in front of goal undid them.
Thibaut Courtois the Belgium goalkeeper saved an early penalty and Michy Batshuayi scored the only goal of the match gave Belgium a 1-0 lead to win over Canada who are returning to the tournament after 36 years .

In today 24th November , 2022 matches 

Switzerland will play against Cameroon at 3.30 pm in Group G

Uruguay wil play against South Korea at 6.30 pm in Group H

Portugal will play against Ghana at 9.30 pm in Group H.

Portugal open their World Cup against Ghana and Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to Twitter to share his excitement.

He tweeted: "We are about to begin our campaign in the greatest competition in the world. An adventure that we wish is long and full of success, in order to raise high the name and flag of our country. We want to fill all Portuguese people with pride and joy. There are no impossibilities! Go Portugal!"

 

In the last match of the day which will start at mid night 12.30 am Brazil will play against Serbia in Group G.
