UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICE BY  Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam .

 "Ropeway" between Mall Road near Alps Hotel Compound to Snow View point is being run by KMVN since decades . 

This is one of the entertainment activity available for the tourist visiting the town of Nainital from all over India and abroad .

Most of the tourist come here to watch the nature from close proximity and in that order take Ropeway to go to Snowview point to watch Himalyan Ranges , Valley Below , Green platation all around etc and very few of them are intersted to watch the Dinosaur Park imposed on them by making compulsary so called free entry for them in Dinosaur Park for which indirectly Rs 60 /- is being charged by enhancing the rate of ticket from Rs.300/- to Rs 360/- .

By this way KMVN not only giving financial overburden to the tourist taking the ride of Ropeway but also depriving him of his precious time which is allowed as one hour  by KMVN to the Ropeway users at Snowview point.
Earlier he could use entire one hour for viewing the  nature . Now he has to spend almost half an hour out of this one hour at Dinosaur Park  
  
This unfair trade practice is being deployed by  none other than a Uttrakhand Govetnment Undertaking known as "Kumoun Mandal Vikas Nigam" popularly known as KMVN in the garb of tourists having free entry into Dinosaur Park with the ticket of the Ropeway .  

The town of Nainital in Uttrakhand is one of the prominent town as tourist destination not only in Uttrakhand but is fomous both Nationally and Internationally .

One among the tourist activity in this town is the visit of tourists by Ropeway to Snow View , a prominent picnic spot where on a clear sky day one could have a beautiful view of snow clad Himalyan Ranges .

This Ropeway is being run and operated by KMVN Kumoun Mandal Vikas Nigam ( an Undertaking of Uttrakhand Government )  from Mall Road near Cafe Himalaya to Snow View Peak @ Rs.360 /- per adult person .
And @ Rs 260/- for children aged below 12 years for to and fro fare.

Earlier the cost of the ticket of Ropeway , which takes you from the base of the Ropeway near Mall Road at Alps Hotel Compound  to the peak of Snowview and back used to be only Rs 300/- per adult person and Rs.200/- per child .

Very recently it has been enhanced to Rs.360 /- per adult and Rs.260/- per child with the hidden charge of Rs. 60/- per person be an adult or be a child as free entry as  free ticket to Dinosaur Park at Snowview , which is being widely publicised in Sign Boards of Ropeway making the tourist believe that this is an additional give away by the operators of Ropeway .

Whereas the truth is that this amount of Rs 60 /- as ticket cost of Dinosaur Park is already added in the ticket of the Ropeway .

Is this not an Unfair Trade Practice ?

The another point is that already expensive ticket of Rs.300/- is being made prohibitive by enhancing its rate to Rs.360/- which the low budget tourist find it difficult to afford hence this is clearly an anti tourists policy to which an organisation like KMVN should refrain.      

Hope the District  Adminstration and the Adminstration of KMVN will look into the matter and get the ticket cost of Ropeway reverse back to Rs.300/- per adult and Rs 200/- per child .

Let the cost of ticket for entry to Dinosaur Park remain at Rs.60/- per person  but it should not be imposed on tourists as compulsory for them .

 

Let those tourists who like to enter the Dinosaur Park buy the ticket @ Rs 60 /- per person and visit Dinosaur Park but those who do not like to enter Dinosaur Park this additional amount of Rs 60/- should not be imposed on them .
