Nainital:The Blatant Misuse of Public Funds in Failed Projects
In the Month of January, 2020 an issue was raised by the public of the town of Nainital, Uttrakhand of the removal of wooden benches installed by the Authorities from Pant Park to Gurdwara for general public and tourists to sit and relax .

That time when the issue was raised only few of these benches were removed by the vested interests suspected by the hawkers there to make more space for their stalls. Had there been appropriate action then by the Authorities , Police and Nagarplika Parishad , Nainital many of these benches could have been saved from removal from there existing places but no action was taken despite this issue raised in media including social and print media.

As a result all these benches which were installed with huge public funds have been removed resulting in the wastage of public money , the money paid by public to the government as various taxes.

Same thing is happening to the blue and yellow street lights installed around the Naini Lake in black colour lamp posts .
These were made functional by the District Adminstration and the Tourism Department of Nainital during Christmas and New Year but now these lights have stopped functioning like before .
Would not it be better if the Government and Adminstration see to it that if any project is taken up there are sufficient safeguards that these are successful not failure like that of installing benches and street lights as described above?
