New Executive Committee of Nainital Hotel & Resturant Association formed - Press Conference held - Read to know the point of views of Hotel & Restaurant Association of Nainital on various issues concerning tourism in Nainital .
On Tuesday 23 August a press conference was organised by the Hotel and Resturant Association of Nainital at Boat House Club , Nainital .
A new Executive Committee of Hotel and Restuarant Association of Nainital has been formed with Mr. Digvijay Singh Bisht ( Hotel Prime Rose ) as President , Mr Aloke Shah ( Hotel Himalya and Pavallion ) as Senior Vice President , Mr. Ved P. Shah ( Hotel Alka ) as Secretary , Mr C.P. Bhatt ( Hotel Krishna ) as Treasurer , Mr. Sneh Chhabra ( Hotel Maharaja ) and Mr Ramanjeet Singh ( Hotel Channi Raja ) as Joint Secretaries and Mr. Ruchir as Public Relations Officer of the Association .
Word of thanks were extended to the outgoing President of the Association Mr. Dinesh Sah ( India Hotel ) ,who carried the Association successfully for 30 long years since 1992.
In this press confrence the issues related to tourism , traffic management , parking , maintainance of roads in Nainital town , registration of non registered Hotels and Homestay were discussed .
It was informed that only 227 Hotels and 60 Homestay are registered with Tourism Depertment and out of that 118 Hotels are associated with Hotels and Resturant Association of Nainital and it is believed that more than 500 Hotels , Guest Houses and Homestay are operating in Nainital town without any registration for which these are being requested to be got registered as this will bring uniformity in operation of Hotels in the town.
District Administration was praised for the projects which are undertaken for the beautification of the town of Nainital . At the same time it was requested to the District Adminstration to develop parking arrangments in the town including small pocket parkings in the unused vacant lands in Nainital and develop the facility in Rusi Bypass including parkings , toilets , resturants , shops , internet facilities for the tourists coming to Nainital and stopped there due to overload of vehicles in the town and make arrangements in a better way with good luxury cars to bring them to the town of Nainital for the quality tourists .
There was a criticism of police too for diverting the traffic coming to Nainital to the other destinations even when half of the Hotels were still had vacant rooms and parking in the town for which it is advised to form a coordination committee in which representatives of Hotel & Resturant Association are also included which could examine the ground situation including visit to Russi Bypass and Narayan Nagar before taking any decision on the stoppage of traffic at Rusi Bypass and Narayan Nagar .
Roads in the town including lower Mall Road needs to be maintained in a better way .
Lower Mall Road which develop cracks and part of which submerged in Naini Lake four years ago still awaiting a permanent solution of repair of this road . If unfortunately Lower Mall Road is cracked further then the tourism to town of Nainital will come to stand still .
Retaining walls of Naini Lake too needs Restoration.
It was informed to the media present in the press conference that every effort will be made to develop quality Tourism in the town by approaching the concerned Ministries, CM , CS , District Adminstration of Nainital and felt not enough is being done for Nainital as compared to what is being done to the town of Mussoorie , the another Hill Station of Uttrakhand.
